Dauntarist was an individual who reached the rank of commander in the Alliance to Restore the Republic. At one stage during their time as commander, Dauntarist showed the protocol droid C-D20 and its astromech droid counterpart R2-RD a database of starship models, available for use by Rebel agents. After being shown the database, both droids were stationed in a hangar to inform agents of the ships they could choose from.
