Flind was a Rebel Alliance soldier part of the contingent invited to the Candoras sector. Alongside Erick, he was ordered by General Airen Cracken to accompany the smuggler Han Solo and his partner Chewbacca back to their ship, the Millennium Falcon, in order to question the three unidentified sentries whom Solo had encountered earlier. By the time they arrived, however, the sentries had disappeared. Finding the situation suspicious, Solo ordered Flind and Erick to scan the Falcon's exterior with EnhanceScan portable scanners for any tracking devices.
