Goldsmythe

Goldsmythe was an individual who served as a moff within the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era and led forces. In 5 ABY, as the Empire prepared to make its last stand on the Inner Rim world Jakku, Goldsmythe and his forces deserted the Empire. The moff's desertion was later reported to Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, who in turn informed Counselor to the Empire Gallius Rax about the development. Rax noted it came as a mild surprise, having suspected Goldsmythe's weakness and declared his desertion a "small loss."

As the counselor began to talk about the moff's forces, Sloane added that General Stansel Malgreen had not responded to communications. She then noted that the Empire's deserters had begun to mount at a critical point, when they needed to execute their plan to perfection, and that their strategy was proving flawed.
