The Guardian of Mount Tantiss was a Force-sensitive assigned by Emperor Palpatine to guard his storehouse at Mount Tantiss on the planet Wayland. According to the Psadan, the Guardian sought control over the natives of Wayland. Some years before Grand Admiral Thrawn arrived on Wayland, the Guardian and the insane Dark Jedi clone Joruus C'baoth fought one another and the Guardian was killed. His body lay in a crypt in the great palace surrounded by candles, one for every person who came to visit him after his death, all of whom (except Thrawn, Gilad Pellaeon, and Rukh) were subsequently killed by C'baoth.
