Jortan was the Katarn Commandos' medical specialist under the leadership of Lieutenant Judder Page. He carried a specialized medpac.
During the Commandos' mission to Hettsk in 9 ABY, Jortan examined the two New Republic pilots that they rescued from Imperial captivity, informing Page that they would require a full medical lab, but that their condition would be stable enough until they could reach a Republic spaceport.
