Canon Linked from 2 articles
Kara was a Force-sensitive medic training in the ways of the Jedi. She served on board the New Republic picket ship, which discovered the only remaining Outrider-class cruiser belonging to the Order of the Silver Jedi. She accompanied Captain Korsu and his group when they boarded the cruiser and informed the captain that she felt the dark side aboard. Immediately after saying this, the Force Vampire barreled through the group, grabbed onto her, and drained her of her life.
