Mordekai was a bogwing who was kept as a pet by the Twi'lek Reom, the president of the company IsoTech. Mordekai resided with Reom on-board the space station the Wheel, on which the headquarters of IsoTech were situated, and during the Galactic Civil War, Mordekai was present when Reom met with a group of freelance operatives aboard the station to hire them to travel to the planet Cholganna in search of the missing starship Sa Nalaor.
