Niv Drendow Apruk

Niv Drendow Apruk was an Umbaran male scientist who served as a member of the Nihil during the High Republic Era. He was a protégé of Ithorian Minister of Advancement Baron Boolan and worked within the pirate group's science sector. Apruk eventually took on his own protégé, Driggit Parse, though she abandoned Apruk in favor of the tutelage of the Nihil commander known as "The Warden".

At the age of five, Apruk was taken from a school for young geniuses by Boolan and brought to Boolan's hideout on Vrant Tarnum, where Apruk was raised and instructed in Boolan's ways. In 228 BBY, Apruk attempted to search for Parse on Eriadu, but caught Jedi Master Emerick Caphtor on the way. Hoping to discover more about the Nameless from Caphtor, he brought the Jedi to the Kharvashark Ruins on Vrant Tarnum, where the two deciphered Boolan's decades of research on the Nameless. Using access to Jedi Azlin Rell's journal as a bargaining chip, Caphtor convinced Apruk to abandon the Nihil and surrender himself to Republic custody.
