Polow was a graduate of the Galactic Alliance Space Academy and served as an Admiral for the Galactic Alliance sometime in 44 ABY. Polow commanded the task force guarding the planet Coruscant aboard the Light Cruiser Regalle and gave the order to give chase to the Millennium Falcon when it tried to land on the planet. Jedi Knight Leia Organa Solo, who was aboard the Millennium Falcon, deduced that Polow might be a Sith working undercover since an officer who graduated from the Galactic Alliance Space Academy would be no higher than a Lieutenant Commander.
