A massive creature called the protector lived on Planet X. In 382 BBY, members of the Path of the Open Hand cult came across the creature as they were fleeing from an Under-Dweller, another massive creature that had attacked them after they had taken eggs of the Nameless species from the planet's caves. The protector attacked and subdued the pursuing Under-Dweller, before beginning to attack the group of cult members as they attempted to leave the planet.
