Pylum was the Master of Cerements on Necropolis. During the year 0 ABY, he participated with Doctor Cornelius Evazan as part of the Project Starscream. When Zak and Tash Arranda arrived in the world of Necropolis he pretended to be a strong believer of the Curse of Sycorax, but in reality he had discovered that the Curse of Sycorax was just a fabrication after he went to the Crypt of the Ancients and saw the remains of Sycorax and her son, but he still pretended to take his role as Master of Cerements seriously while to fool the public while he secrectly worked with Evasan. As Zak, Tash, Hoole, Boba Fett, and the droid DV-9 depearted the Crypt of the Ancients after a battle with Doctor Evasan and his zombie minions, they noticed Pylum's own dead body at the foot of the stairs leading into the crypt, his neck was broken, and there was a terifed expession on his face. Although Hoole posited that the Master of Cerements had died as he slipped down the stairs while trying to push open the heavy doors, DV-9 told them the doors already had been open, leading Hoole to state that perhaps Sycorax did have some power after all to punish those who disrespected the dead.
