Rao was a swoop bike racer on the old Mos Espa Grand Arena. She built a swoop bike, which was basically a Podracer engine with a seat attached. Although the bike was extremely fast, it was responsible for the deaths of six people, after which Ulda, the owner of the Grand Arena, bought it.
In 8.5 ABY, New Republic members Han and Leia Organa Solo searched for the painting Killik Twilight. Ulda gave them Rao's swoop bike to chase down her ex-husband Kitster Chanchani Banai who stole the painting from the auction.
