Riok Ragul

Riok Ragul was a scavenger on the desert planet Jakku during the New Republic Era. He traveled out into the region known as the Sinking Fields every few weeks using a water recycler and large shoes with flat soles that helped spread out his weight and prevent him from sinking into the sand. Ragul claimed the shoes were a technique used by members of the Teedo species.

After Ragul failed to return from one of these trips, other residents of Jakku speculated that he had been dragged under the sands by a predatory nightwatcher worm or discovered a Teedo secret that had led to them causing his disappearance. The scavenger Rey, who considered Ragul old, was always reminded of him by the Sinking Fields. By 34 ABY, she wrote about him in her survival guide and speculated on his disappearance, listing getting lost, getting caught in a X'us'R'iia storm, or one of his shoes or his recycler breaking, as the most likely causes.
