S2-M8 was an R-series astromech droid that was manufactured by Industrial Automaton with blue and yellow plating and a black sensor. During the occupation of the planet Batuu by the First Order in 34 ABY, the droid took an oil bath at the droid repair station in the Service Yard of the Droid Depot in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. The droid beeped happily as he enjoyed his bath while fellow astromech droid M5-R3 waited for its turn in the oil.
