Skela served as a commander in the Hapan Royal Navy sometime in 44 ABY. Skela participated in the evacuation of the Jedi Academy on the planet Ossus. During the evacuation, a squadron of Skipray twelve-jays piloted by Sith appeared and Skela recommended to Queen Mother Tenel Ka Djo to send two wings of Miy'til starfighters to reinforce Vhork Squadron. Choosing to err on the side of caution, Tenel Ka chose to send four wings instead.
