Tantos was a feared Firrerreo pirate lord—brutal and dangerous— whom many considered to be a barbarian. His arms were covered with three-dimensional tattoos of strange beasts. In 32 BBY he bought the Twi'lek slave girl Pala Kwi'teksa from Madame Vansitt's Charm Academy in Mos Espa on Tatooine, to use her as his personal assassin and spy. He was officially the child's third master.
