Thomas Toov was an aging human who, in hopes of extending his natural life, rarely ever left his stasis dome. A wealthy individual, he attended an auction on the Sorca Retreat space station held by the archaeologist Doctor Chelli Aphra where Aphra had placed an ancient Ordu artifact, the Rur crystal, up for sale. When the AI Eternal Rur was released, it killed Toov for chasing immortality.
