Turgus was a dewback on the planet Tatooine in 3 ABY. He was considered a loving animal by his owner, and would lick the sweat from people's hands if allowed.
In 3 ABY, Kay Vess asked Turgus and Plapper's owner, a farmer, to move their dewbacks because they were blocking her way and her pet merqaal Nix was afraid of them. The farmer complied, and Vess and Nix passed through.
