An agent for the New Republic operated in the Corellian system around 7 ABY. While in the system, he intercepted a scrambled transmission from one of the system's planets, which contained plans for a new sublight engine in development by the Human engineer Gen Tiraan. Both the sublight engine and Tiraan were of interest to the New Republic and remnants of the Galactic Empire, and the transmission noted that Tiraan was being hounded by Imperial forces attempting to leverage him into the Imperial service.
When a team of Republic operatives arrived in the Corellian system in search of Tiraan, the agent provided the transmission to the group so that they could locate and rescue Tiraan before he was forcibly taken by Imperial forces.
