Unidentified Togruta shopkeeper

Canon Linked from 2 articles

A Togruta worked as a shopkeeper on the planet Ringo Vinda. In 22 BBY, Jedi Master Sember Vey and her Padawan Iskat Akaris visited this individual's shop and looked over an ancient book, which the shopkeeper had kept stored in an old, soft eopie hide. As they did so, he fidgeted with the long strand of beads he wore on his neck and kept glancing nervously at the lightsaber hilt on Vey's belt. After the Jedi had examined the item, both physically and with the Force, Vey identified it as a Sith text. When the Togruta assumed that they were thus not interested in the artifact, Vey stated otherwise, saying that they would buy it and that the Jedi Order would keep it safe. While the Jedi Master had stated that they would take the text at the promised price, she and the shopkeeper ended up haggling over it.

Once the purchase was completed and the Jedi were about to leave, the shopkeeper asked Vey what species Akaris was, noting that he had never seen someone like her. Both responded that she was a Jedi and left it at that, with the Togruta placatingly insisting that he was merely curious. A few days later, Akaris indirectly mentioned the transaction by telling her friend Tualon Yaluna that she had last been on Ringo Vinda; the next day, Master Vey was killed during the First Battle of Geonosis. Sometime between 19 BBY and 14 BBY, Akaris, now an initiate of the Inquisitorius, reflected on her dead Master, recalling how the last acquisition they had made together had been on Ringo Vinda.
