Veré was a female character in a legend of the planet Naboo's Futhork calligraphy who was said to be eternal lovers with the male character Set. In 22 BBY, Naboo Senator Padmé Amidala and Jedi Anakin Skywalker adopted "Veré" and "Set" as their respective aliases in order to secretly join in matrimony.
The star-crossed lovers thus presented themselves to Pontifex Maxiron Agolerga of the Brotherhood of Cognizance, who oversaw their marriage ceremony in the presence of the couple's droids, C-3PO and R2-D2, at the Varykino estate on Naboo. Aferward, "Set" instructed Agolerga not to speak of the ceremony, ensuring the only record of the short procession would be a scroll in his Brotherhood's archives. When the holyman eventually learned of the couple's true identities, he informed Amidala's niece, Pooja Naberrie, of the union.
