Yané

Yané, born Suyan Higin, was a human female, from the planet Naboo, who worked in the service of the Royal House of Naboo for a time.

Suyan worked as a weaver, and while she was making blankets for a hospital, she was approached by Captain Quarsh Panaka of the Royal Naboo Security Forces who recruited her to become one of the royal handmaidens in service of the newly elected Queen Padmé Amidala. After becoming a handmaiden, Suyan changed her name, along with the other handmaidens, to Yané. When Amidala left Naboo for Coruscant, Yané and Saché stayed behind and helped with the resistance to the Trade Federation's invasion and occupation.

Yané often volunteered to help Naboo's orphans, and she devoted more of her time to that cause after she left Amidala's service; she fostered many children at the large house she had bought that became her and Saché's home together, while Saché served in the Naboo planetary legislative assembly. The couple married around 24 BBY. Yané also took in the child survivors of the mudslide disaster in 22 BBY.
