Zara was a female individual who resided on the planet Nam Chorios during the time of the Galactic Alliance. Zara was one of the Newcomers, the second wave of colonists to settle on Nam Chorios, and she lived in the city Hweg Shul with her father and her son. In 44 ABY, the entity Abeloth journeyed to Nam Chorios and her use of the Force caused a large Force storm to develop, which swept through Hweg Shul and blew Zara's house away, with Zara and her family inside. However, Zara was rescued by the Jedi Knight Ben Skywalker, while her father and son were saved by the Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and the Sith apprentice Vestara Khai.
