The Army hauler hijack was a covert operation conducted in 44 ABY by Wraith Squadron, a disbanded Galactic Alliance commando unit that had recently been unofficially reformed by its former leader, Garik Loran. After arriving on the galactic capital of Coruscant, Loran and Voort saBinring, a former Wraith whom Loran had convinced to come out of retirement, were at the spaceport when Myri Antilles, Wraith Three, deliberately bumped into Loran and slipped him a datapad set to ignite after three minutes, which he placed inside one of their bags as part of their operation. Loran then instructed saBinring to follow Antilles to receive his next set of orders.
They boarded a decrepit looking speeder piloted by Trey Courser, Wraith Four. After landing beside a low permacrete wall, Antilles, pretending to be a frightened civilian, staged an argument with saBinring, who made wild motions with his arms to sell the act, while Callum concealed himself beneath a blanket inside the speeder. Believing Antilles to be in danger, a passing Galactic Alliance Army hauler-speeder landed behind them, and its crew of four GA troopers disembarked to intervene. The pilot led the group towards the Wraiths as Antilles ran past to stand behind him in mock fright, where one of the troopers draped his arms around her in a gesture of comfort. Antilles quickly elbowed him in the chest, freeing her from his grasp, and signaled saBinring to drop to the ground. As he did, Courser fired from his blaster rifle, stunning the pilot and the female trooper, while Antilles shot the trooper beside her with a hold-out blaster. The remaining trooper tried to retreat into their hauler but was promptly stunned by Courser.
The Wraiths commandeered the military hauler, with saBinring now acting as pilot while Courser worked to remove the military transponder installed on the vehicle. By then, their original speeder had become engulfed in black smoke after the smoke grenade they left inside detonated. This, along with the fire at the spaceport caused by the overheating datapad, served as distractions while the Wraiths made their escape. Antilles then directed saBinring to their safe house, where the rest of the team were waiting.
