An attack on the planet Atraken took place during the Clone Wars sometime between 22 BBY and 19 BBY between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, as both sides wanted control over the planet's rich natural mineral resources. Although the battle was ultimately a Republic victory, millions were killed in the fighting, and the whole world was left uninhabitable.
