During the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire, a battle occurred in the asteroids near the planet New Cov when Imperial starfighters fortified themselves in the system by setting up a prototype minefield using remote satellites. In order to protect the Republic war effort in the region, the Coruscant Aegis squadron was tasked with destroying the satellites and the Imperial forces defending them.
