Battle of Jedha

Canon Linked from 165 articles

The Battle of Jedha, also known as the battle on Jedha, was fought on the Mid Rim moon of Jedha in 382 BBY between the warring factions of the planets Eiram and E'ronoh, several Force-worshipping sects present in the Holy City of Jedha, the Jedi Order and forces of the Galactic Republic.

After the negotiation of ceasefire and a peace treaty between Eiram and E'ronoh, representatives from both sides were invited to the Holy City of Jedha by the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic to sign the treaty. However, due to lingering mistrust between the planets, and the outbreak of riots in the Holy City caused by the extremist sect the Path of the Open Hand, the summit erupted into a battle between Eirami and E'roni forces on Jedha in the midst of fighting between sects. In engineering the Battle of Jedha, the Path were able to make it seem as though the Jedi and Republic—after claiming they would bring peace to Eiram and E'ronoh—only brought about more pain and suffering, all while the Path worked to provide healing and comfort to the injured. According to Path doctrine, it was the Jedi and their use of the Force that brought violence down upon Jedha, all while it was the Mother's own machinations in secret.
