According to a Sith legend, two Sith known as the Dreamer and the Monster-Slayer engaged each other in a lightsaber duel around 3400 BBY. However, both died due to the effects of the vapors of the Pits of Paxxis at which the duel was taking place. Millennia later, the Jedi Luke Skywalker annotated an illustration depicting the confrontation.
