Sometime between 40 BBY and 32 BBY, a duel occurred when Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, accompanied by his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, confronted the assassin Corlis Rath to reconcile the latter's vendetta on the Jedi Master. Jinn took a pacifist approach, but Kenobi dueled Rath to protect his master. Jinn then intervened before Rath could kill his padawan, convincing the assassin to consider leaving his path of hate for good. The two parties thus parted ways.
