The Enslavement of Kashyyyk was the protracted campaign in which the Galactic Empire subjugated the planet Kashyyyk and subsequently reclassified the native Wookiees as a slave species. The Wookiees became regular hunting prey for Trandoshans and were forced into conscripted labor on Imperial construction projects, including the first Death Star battle station.
