Escape from the Grand Republic Medical Facility

In 19 BBY, the ARC trooper Fives escaped from the Grand Republic Medical Facility on Coruscant after being framed for attacking Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Fives had been investigating the circumstances surrounding his friend and fellow clone trooper Tup's mysterious mental breakdown and subsequent murder of Jedi General Tiplar during the Battle of Ringo Vinda. With the help of medical droid AZI-3, Fives had discovered organic chips which were implanted inside all of the clones, and after going rogue in Tipoca City in an attempt to prevent the Kaminoans from covering the situation up, he persuaded Jedi Master Shaak Ti to let him plead his case before the Chancellor about the chips' potential danger.

However, Palpatine was secretly the architect of the entire conspiracy, as Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, and once alone with Fives and his guards, Palpatine told him the truth about what the chips were for–to force the clones to execute the Jedi–before ordering the guards to kill him. Fives fought back in self-defense, but when Shaak Ti burst into the room after hearing Palpatine screaming in apparent fear, it looked like he had attacked the Chancellor for no reason. Chased by the Togruta Jedi, Fives fled, his aggression and paranoia amplified by a drug Kaminoan scientist Nala Se had secretly administered to him. He eventually arranged a meeting with his superiors, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex, in a warehouse on Level 1325 so he could plead his case. However, Fives was killed by the Coruscant Guard when they tracked him there. With Skywalker and Rex disbelieving his claims due to the effects of the drug, Fives' death was covered up as the result of a parasite which had made his "inhibitor" chip break down, and the Jedi were none the wiser as to their intended demise.
