Purge of Alderaanians

Following the destruction of the planet Alderaan in 1 BBY, the Galactic Empire began a purge of surviving Alderaanians across the galaxy with the intent of eradicating their people and culture. Those to survived by being offworld at the time were targeted for extermination, albeit with some exceptions such as the Imperial loyalist Nash Windrider and the Imperial Admiral Gallia Kryder, who survived the purge by moving her fleet to the edge of Wild Space. The Alliance to Restore the Republic and the House of Organa, survived through Leia Organa, aided in rescuing the remaining Alderaanians. As a result many Alderaanians survived the purge.
