During the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, a Jedi Knight attacked the laboratory of the Sith Lord Sadic deep in the Imperial prison district of Shadow Town on Nar Shaddaa. With the help of Agent Galen of the Republic Strategic Information Service, the Knight defeated Sadic, who had willingly undergone the Power Guard process in order to gain new power, and the commandos of the Republic Special Forces's Blackstar Squad destroyed the laboratory after the battle on the Jedi's instructions so that the Power Guard Project would die with Sadic.
