Rooper Nitani's Jedi Trials

Around 379 BBY, Jedi Padawan Rooper Nitani underwent her Jedi Trials on the world Batuu. Her Jedi Master, Silandra Sho, left her shield in Peka village, deliberately allowing it to be taken by a salmaca creature that had been raiding the village for several weeks. Sho then tasked Nitani with finding the shield to pass her trials. Nitani first searched Sho's favorite meditation spots, but the Padawan did not find the shield. She then headed to Peka, where she learned from the villager Jerlyn about the salmaca and how it had taken the shield.

Nitani agreed to help the people of Peka with their problem and entered the salmaca's cave. Inside the cave, she rescued the droid Dee-Twelve and found the shield. When a group of villagers entered the cave to kill the salmaca, Nitani used the shield to protect the villagers and the salmaca from each other. After returning to Peka, she convinced the villagers to leave out junk each night for the salmaca to take, solving their problem. After Nitani completed her trials, Sho gave the shield to her Padawan, honoring a tradition of passing it down.
