A cave on the world Batuu was inhabited by a salmaca creature. The cave's entrance was a tunnel that led to an immense chamber, where the salmaca made its nest. Around 379 BBY, the salmaca began raiding homes in the nearby village Peka. During her Jedi Trials, Jedi Padawan Rooper Nitani entered the cave to solve the village's problem with the salmaca and did so successfully.
