The Arath system was located in the Outer Rim Territories' Tunka sector and was home to a sentient race. The Jedi Sturm Umbrik led an expedition to a moon in the system—Shara'Tam—that discovered treasure and confirmed the race's past presence. However, the expedition's members were killed by pirates, leaving the location of Shara'Tam unknown for centuries. In 22 BBY, it was rediscovered when the Mirialan Servit used an EX droid that had been used in the expedition to listen to a holorecording of Umbrik, revealing the moon's coordinates.
