The Chrelythiumn system was a star system located within Wild Space, far beyond the Outer Rim Territories. At some point during the Clone Wars, the Mortis monolith appeared somewhere deep in the system and broadcasted an ancient Jedi distress signal. In response, the Jedi High Council sent Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and Padawan Ahsoka Tano to investigate the source, where they were to rendezvous with a heavily armed Jedi cruiser to defend against a possible Separatist trick.
