The Gekto system was a star system in the Core Worlds containing the planet Hoszh Iszhir, homeworld of the Gektl species. Talon Karrde was making shipping arrangements in the Gekto system when Ja Bardrin captured the crew of Karrde's ship, the Wild Karrde, and forced his second-in-command Mara Jade to rescue Sansia Bardrin from the Drach'nam crime lord Chay Praysh.
