The Kal'Shebbol system was a star system in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Kal'Shebbol was the system's primary world, and it was a major trading hub on the Trition Trade Route that ran through the sector. The Kal'Shebbol system served as the primary system of the Kathol sector when it was inducted into the Galactic Republic, as Kal'Shebbol was appointed the sector capital. Control of the Kal'Shebbol system passed to the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, and, in 4 ABY, Moff Kentor Sarne withdrew the entire sector from the Empire in the wake of Emperor Palpatine's death at the Battle of Endor, establishing his own warlord fiefdom. The Kal'Shebbol system became the nexus of his domain until 8 ABY, when the New Republic launched a successful operation to remove him from power.
