The Mordal system was located in the Illisurevimurasi sector of the Outer Rim Territories and the New Territories. The star system was situated in grid square Q-4 of the Standard Galactic Grid and contained the terrestrial world Mordal.
During the Galactic Civil War, in 4 ABY, the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance fought a battle in Mordal's city Maborn. During the conflict, the civilian Corwin Ballast became trapped between the warring sides with his wife, Lynnta, and their daughter, both of whom perished from indiscriminate blaster fire. The incident on Mordal ended without a decisive victor, and a grieving Ballast chose to leave Mordal after the hostilities ceased.
