The Rhinnal system was located in the Darpa sector of the Core Worlds and the Interior. The star system was situated in grid square L-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid, just off the Hydian Way hyperspace route. The Perlemian Trade Route hyperspace route connected it to the Brentaal and Shulstine systems. The Rhinnal system contained the cold and snowy planet Rhinnal.
Rhinnal was a member of the Galactic Republic during the High Republic Era. Considered a key world of the Republic, Rhinnal received a sky-island with a replication of its environment and a turbo-ski run for the Republic Fair on the Outer Rim planet Valo in 231 BBY. In 9 ABY, the Rhinnal system was part of the New Republic's territories.
