The Vex system was located in the Outer Rim Territories' Moddell sector. It contained the swampy planet Vex Major and the Vex Asteroid Belt. The former was home to a population of fishers, while the latter was inhabited by a collection of freighter jocks, prospectors, and hyperspace scouts. The purpose of the original colonization of the Vex Asteroid Belt was to explore the nearby Monsua Nebula, and the continuously unsuccessful results of the ensuing scouting runs lent the Vex system its name.
