The Virgillia system, also known as the Virgillian system or as Virgillian space, was located in the Outer Rim Territories' Koradin sector. It contained the worlds Virgillia and Virgillia 7. The star system was the site of a civil war between the Aristocracy and the Virgillian Free Alignment, which began during the final years of the Galactic Republic and continued in the Galactic Empire's reign. During the war, the Aristocracy controlled the Virgillia system and kept the Free Alignment confined to its colony planets. The conflict eventually became a proxy war between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance once the Alliance began supporting the Free Alignment. The Free Alignment ultimately won, after which a truce between the two sides was established and the Virgillian Council was created to govern the system.
