The Yir Tangee system was a star system located within the Northern Dependencies portion of the Colonies. The system contained the planet Yir Tangee. Senator Havriso Looruya was appointed as a representative of Yir Tangee to the Loyalist Committee—a committee formed by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine of the Galactic Republic in 22 BBY to assist in negotiations for the crisis spurred by the Separatists' attempts to secede from the Republic. Later in 22 BBY, Looruya stepped down from the committee amid accusations of funding Separatists and was replaced by Senator Onaconda Farr, a representative of the planet Rodia.
A few years after the Galactic Empire's defeat on the Forest Moon of Endor in 4 ABY, a hospital ship created by members of the medically advanced Carosite species, the Sudden Restoration, was preparing medical supplies for the ravaged planet of Yir Tangee. The Ewok shaman Keoulkeech joined the frigate's journey to bring medical aid to worlds suffering from the Galactic Civil War.
