Bearsloth venom

Bearsloth venom was the virulent venom of the bearsloth, an arboreal predator found on the celestial body Arbooine. The venom killed the bearsloths' prey slowly, sapping their health the harder they exerted themselves. This meant that those who fled after being bitten by a bearsloth often inadvertently caused their own demise by hastening the venom's effect.

The predators were known best for their venomous bite, even moreso than their ferocity, and local Sathari hunters on Arbooine used the venom to poison their bladed weapons, known as diiros, as the venom retained its potency and lethality well after a bearsloth's death. During the Galactic Civil War, this made it a hot commodity with arms dealers and the glitterstim dealer Savas the Dreaded sold some of the venom aquired on Arbooine to the Hutt Mahon.

Arms dealers hired a group of spacers to acquire bearsloth venom for an eager client.
