Bestinnian tang-root was a kind of strong smelling root that could be eaten by Humans and served on bhillen sandwiches.
In 3 ABY, the young Human slicer Shannon Voorson prepared a bhillen sandwich with Bestinnian tang-root as part of a plan to run away and join her cousin, Deen Voorson, in the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Shannon placed the sandwich in a thermabag along with a signaller, hoping that the smell of the tang-root would discourage discovery of the communication device.
