Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The coma-bloom was a yellow, horn-shaped flower that could be found within the artificially-created forests of exotic and rare plants on the hunting grounds of the moon Sojourn. The otherwise innocuous-appearing flower blossomed on low-hanging vines, from which it could be easily plucked by hand. Due to containing alkaloids that affected the brain if ingested, the coma-bloom was known to be highly poisonous.

Shortly after the Gathering on Sojourn in 67 BBY, the Bith dark side adept Darth Venamis was forced to ingest a coma-bloom after being defeated in lightsaber combat by the Muun Sith Lord Darth Plagueis. Aware of the plant's properties, Venamis reluctantly complied with Plagueis's orders and consumed the flower, which plunged him into a comatose state and would have killed him if not for Plagueis's use of drugs to maintain his unconscious state indefinitely and carry out experiments with the midi-chlorians in the Bith's bloodstream.
