A coma was a debilitating effect on beings that completely disabled them and left them in a completely unconscious, near-death state. A person in a coma was described as comatose. Comas could be triggered by severe injury, toxins or drugs, or could be intentionally entered by certain species, such as the Gand, and by certain Jedi. Moonglow was known to produce a hallucinatory coma followed by death.
