Elphronian crystals were a type of heat-resistant crystal found on the planet Elphrona. No earlier than 35 ABY, Ardis San Tekka, the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts's Director of Creature Cartography, compiled a journal about various non-sentient creatures. Within the journal, San Tekka noted that the flames charhounds shot from their mouths were usually hot enough to melt nearly any organic material, except for Elphronian crystals.
