Flutestems were a component of billian trees that could whistle in the wind. A grove of the trees grew in Monument Plaza on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant by the time of the High Republic Era. In 232 BBY, Republic Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh strolled through Monument Plaza with her retinue and followed a path curving around a billian tree grove, noticing their flutestems whistling in the breeze.
